In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
In-vitro fertilisation is commonly referred to as IVF or “test tube baby”. It is a process of fertilisation occurred outside the body which involves manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. Using this technique we can help patients overcome difficulties in fertilising embryos the traditional way.

A standard IVF procedure has 5 steps:

  1. Ovulation Induction
  2. Egg Collection
  3. Sperm Collection
  4. Fertilisation
  5. Embryo Transfer
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
IUI is a procedure that involves placing of sperm inside a woman’s uterus to facilitate fertilisation. It usually only requires the insertion of a speculum and then the cannula. This fertility treatment does not involve the manipulation of a woman’s eggs. The goal of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and subsequently increases the chances of fertilisation.

The success rate of IUI depends on several factors.

  • Age of the female, ovarian function, fallopian tube blockage, pelvic adhesions and other additional causes of infertility.
  • Amount of motile sperm that are inserted into the uterus. Several studies have indicated that if a man has a lower number of progressively motile sperm after sperm wash, the chances for pregnancy is lowered.
  • High number of sperm with abnormal morphology will also lower the chances for pregnancy.
  • The timing of IUI.
Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening / Diagnosis (PGS / PGD) with ION TORRENT NGS
PGS is used to improve IVF success rates by analysing the chromosomes of the embryos, ensuring all 23 pairs are healthy before transferring to the uterus.

PGD can prevent inheritable genetic diseases from being transmitted to the next generation by screening genes for monogenic diseases such as Thalassaemia.

Genesis IVF uses ION TORRENT NGS  technology which allows both PGS and PGD to be done concurrently, reducing the number of biopsies, reducing the risk of damaging your precious embryos.

Women above the age 35 have an increased chance of chromosomal defects, reducing the risks for successful pregnancies.

Embryo Freezing with Cryotec©
Embryos that are not used during a fresh transfer can be frozen for future and thawed at a later date and transferred back to the womb after suitable preparation of the lining of the womb.

With frozen embryos, patients can have a second chance to achieve a pregnancy without having to undergo the full course of injections to stimulate the ovaries and the egg recovery procedure.

Blastocyst Culture

Genesis IVF uses a reliable Blastocyst Culture that significantly improves pregnancy rate. Genesis IVF also cultures embryos to the 5th day, to ensure the most optimal blastocysts are transferred to increase the chances for a successful pregnancy.

Family planning with MicroSort® X & Y Sperm Sorting

MicroSort® is a method based on the difference in the amount of genetic material in the sperm, where the X chromosome has approximately 2.8% more DNA material than the Y chromosome.

Additional Services

Non-invasive Prenatal Test (NiPT)

This prenatal test is done by simply taking a small amount of blood (only 10mls) from the mother to check for any chromosomal defects or abnormalities, and also for checking the gender of the baby at the same time. There is no risk to both you and your precious baby as it is non-invasive.

Abnormalities in chromosomes can be detected with up to 99% accuracy without any risk to the mother or the baby when compared to traditional methods of testing.

Egg Banking

Genesis provides Egg Banking services allow the eggs from a woman to be retrieved, frozen and stored for future use. The frozen eggs can later be thawed, fertilized and transferred into the uterus when desired.

Egg banking is a good option for patients who are planning to delay having a baby for reasons such as:

  1. Cancer chemotherapy or radiotherapy
  2. Career
  3. Relationship / future family planning
Laparoscopy

A laparoscopy procedure is an invasive surgery that is performed in the abdomen through a small incision and inserting a thin viewing device to examine the Fallopian Tubes, ovaries and uterus.
A laparoscopy may identify endometriosis, scarring tissues, blockage of the tubes and problem with the ovaries and uterus.

Hysteroscopy

This procedure is used to inspect the uterine cavity or fallopian tube for diseases. During this procedure, a thin and lighted device is inserted through the cervix into the uterus
