To begin your IVF treatment, schedule your first appointment with your doctor for a thorough fertility assessment. This initial evaluation is crucial for identifying potential issues concerning your reproductive health. During the visit, the doctor will conduct a comprehensive review of both you and your partner to determine the most suitable and effective treatment plan, balancing potential risks.
Timing for your first fertility assessment is flexible, as you’re welcome to book an appointment at a convenient time for you. You can come in at any point during your menstrual cycle for this consultation.
During this initial session, your fertility specialist will ask detailed questions about you and your partner, including your medical history and sexual health. It’s highly recommended that both of you attend together. If you’ve previously undergone IVF treatment and have assessment results from within the last six months, those reports can be utilized in this process.
If you’re planning to remain in Malaysia for the entire IVF cycle, aim to arrive one day before or on the first day of your menstrual cycle. The stimulation cycle typically lasts about 12 to 14 days and concludes with Oocyte Pick-Up (OPU). Assuming no side effects arise, you would generally be able to return to your home country within one to two days following the OPU procedure.
